My wife and I purchased this a few weeks ago to replace a similar pan that was teflon coated. We were concerned about the difficulty of cleaning it well, but it is great. We love how evenly it cooks and heats quickly. It is very easy to clean after a quick soak. I highly recommend it and would buy this pan again if I had it to do over.

I have a set of the Gourmet Distinctions line. My only complaint is that the set came with only two small skillets.
So I purchased this saute pan, which is wonderful. It distributes the heat very well across the bottom of the pan. It holds the heat forever because of the thick bottom. And it cleans up great. We use it all the time.
My mother-in-law, who just purchased an uber-expensive All Clad set, was impressed with this great pan as well.

Of all the stainless steel products I have purchased, this is one of the best. It is the 2nd piece of KitchenAid Gourmet Distinctions cookware I have purchased and am totally satisfied with both. It conducts heat evenly and a satisfaction to cook with. Yes, I have no reservations recommending this product.

This saute pan was my first foray into “quality” cookware. I looked over all of the specs and this pan was a good value.
I am VERY pleased with the even heating characteristics, no hot spots. The 4.75 Qt size is JUST RIGHT (anything larger would tie up another burner on my stove) and cleanup is NOT a problem… a little Bar Keepers friend and it still looks like new.
I am quite DISAPPOINTED with the handle. I’m a fairly strong guy, but the ergonomics of the straight, thin and rounded handle make it difficult to maneuver this pan with one hand. It is impossible to pour without using the helper handle, making me wish I had a third hand for the spatula.
Would I buy this item again? Probably not. I DID learn an important lesson about online shopping: sometimes there is NO substitute for seeing and handling the item yourself. Five minutes at the kitchen store was all it took to find out why some “little” things (like the handles on Calphalon cookware) may be worth a couple extra bucks.

I love this pan! The thick base with copper gets it hot really quick and holds the heat very long. It’s roomy, has a helper handle, you can fry/saute your chicken with vegies, deglaze it, and then put the pan into the oven to finish. The cover sits very tight. The cleaning is very easy – just fill pan with hot water with some soap and in few minutes – it’s completely clean. Overall it’s becoming one of my favorite pan.

Adam! Meals…let’s see. Breakfast is usually yogurt, fruit and green tea. Maybe and egg or egg white scramble and fruit on the side (love blueberries and cantaloupe). Lunch is usually soup or a sandwich (whole wheat/grain bread), maybe a salad, some nuts, more fruit. Dinner: chicken or fish, couple servings of veggies and/or a salad, more tea. Mainly if I get hungry and snack on something throughout the day, it’s fruit or nuts as opposed to chips or sweets. And lots of water and tea. When it comes to protein, I’m making a lot of flavorful sauces: herbs, olive oil, vinegars to enhance my food. Also eating a lot of beans, some rice. I think a big part of it has also been eating whole and unprocessed foods. I’m cooking a lot which I enjoy and makes for knowing what you’re consuming with certainty.
