I have a recipe for bread, but it's for 12 loaves. I used to have an older Hobart 20 qt mixer and can't afford to replace it with another Hobart. Was wondering if the Kitchenaid 600 would work as well. Also, can a recipe be halved and still achieve the same results?

I have a Kitchenaid that’s 35 yrs old, and IT is sturdy enough to make bread! Kitchenaid can handle anything, and is well worth the cost. Mine works as well as the day I bought it
I have had 2 kitchenaid mixers, I found the second at a yard sale for 15 dollars and couldn’t pass it up. They are about 25 years old and I still make bread with them. You can’t go wrong with Kitchenaid!
Guess what, the Kitchenaid was made by the Hobart Co. I had a friend of mine who worked at the Hobart plant in Ohio, who supplied me with accessories for my Kitchenaid.
The KA 600 only has a 6 quart work bowl, so you would have to cut it in 3rd. I make bread with my Kitchenaid very successfully. I do find that additional hand kneading helps beyond the kneading by the dough hook in the mixer. This is not something the bread recipes call for, just an observation of mine.
We have a 600 Pro. Works fine for dough. The other guy is right. Kitchen Aide is a Hobart. Just scaled down for home use.
